The best campgrounds. So pleasent and clean. Just perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. Grandkids miss internet but papa loves not having cell phones and tablets, can play real games with all.
One nice thing to know about Ohio's SP is there isn't a fee for day use. Remarkable!
We hiked the North Loop which is about 10 miles. It was well marked with red blazes throughout, and they looked very recently repainted. Lots of different oaks (white, red, black, chestnut) and maples and tulip and elm trees to see.
The day we were there was a pleasantly warm summer day. 4-5 kids were swimming off the dock but other then this it was quite deserted. A walk around the beach area to see the picturesque little lake and then a blaze in one of the fire rings in beautiful surroundings! Definitely worth a visit.
Logan Trail - I love that it is remote and you are in the forest. Expect steep climbs and descents. It’s a must to have the detailed trail guide and do the north or south loop counterclockwise. The park and the trail are not maintained well enough without it. Otherwise, I would give it five stars. When I called the park office to check trail conditions, they had no idea.
Tar hollow state park is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever been to. It's clean and we'll kept. I highly recommend.
